Mumbai Indians registered their fifth win in the ongoing IPL season with a six-wicket win against Punjab Kings on Wednesday (May 3). After this victory, Rohit Sharma's team reached the sixth position in the points table. He has 10 points after five wins and five losses in 10 matches. On the other hand, this is Punjab's fifth defeat in 10 matches. He has 10 points and is in the seventh position.

Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. Punjab scored 214 runs for three wickets in 20 overs. Mumbai won the match by scoring 216 runs for four wickets in 18.5 overs. Tilak Verma and Tim David finished off the match in style after Ishaan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav blasted innings at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.

Rohit's bat did not work in the 200th match

This match was special for Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma. It was Rohit's 200th match for Mumbai, but he could not make it special with the bat. Rohit became the victim of Rishi Dhawan after facing three balls. However, the team won the match and gave a wonderful gift to Rohit on this special occasion.

Punjab bowlers proved to be expensive

When the Punjab batsmen scored 214 runs on the scoreboard, it seemed that the team would win the match, but the bowlers ruined their hard work. Barring Nathan Ellis and Rishi Dhawan, four other bowlers scored runs at an economy rate of more than 10. Arshdeep Singh gave 66 runs taking one wicket in 3.5 overs. This is his worst bowling in IPL. Sam Karan gave 41 runs in three overs, Harpreet Brar gave 21 runs in two overs and Rahul Chahar gave 30 runs in three overs. Arshdeep and Rishi got one success each. Nathan Ellis took two wickets for 34 runs in four overs. Rishi Dhawan gave 20 runs in three overs.
