Biden administration said- Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has immunity in the murder of journalist Khashoggi

Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman is accused of involvement in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has legal immunity from a lawsuit filed over the 2018 murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the US Justice Department told a court on Thursday. Khashoggi had criticized Yuvraj's policies in a Washington Post column.

 

Khashoggi was killed in the Saudi consulate

Khashoggi was murdered in October 2018 inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Khagoshi's body was also buried inside the embassy. Turkey also accused several Saudi citizens in connection with Khashoggi's murder. The Turkish government alleged that journalist Khashoggi was murdered at the behest of the Saudi government. After this massacre, there were protests against Saudi Arabia all over the world.

 

Saudi Crown Prince had admitted- 'under my supervision...'

Although the Crown Prince at first denied involvement in Khashoggi's murder, he later admitted that it happened "under my watch". In such a situation, the Saudi Crown has been made accused in the case of Khashoggi's murder in the US court, but it is not possible to take any action against him because he is the President of the nation. The Biden administration said in the court that the Saudi Crown has immunity.
