Within 24 hours of the oath of Nitish Kumar's new cabinet, one of his ministers has been embroiled in controversy. A minister of Nitish is accused of breaking the law. He has none other than the law ministry. Karthikeya Singh, who became Law Minister from RJD quota, is MLC. Kartikeya Singh is known to be very close to RJD's Bahubali MLA Anant Singh. Anant Singh has lost his legislature in the case of possessing AK-47 and other weapons.

What is the case against Kartikeya?

Actually, in the year 2014, a person was kidnapped. Bihar's new law minister Kartikeya Singh is also accused in this case. The court has issued a warrant against him. He was to appear on August 16 but he was taking oath during that time. Kartikeya Singh has neither surrendered before the court nor has applied for bail. The court has now given the next date of hearing in this case to September 1.

Who is Kartikeya Singh?

Kartikeya Singh, a resident of Shivnar village in Mokama, was a teacher before joining politics. His wife Ranjana Kumari has been the head for two consecutive terms. Kartikeya came in contact with former Mokama MLA Anant Singh in 2005. Anant Singh, who was called 'Chhote Sarkar', grew so close that 'Chhote Sarkar' made Kartikeya Master his election strategist.

When Anant was in jail in different cases, Kartikeya would have done all his work. From Mokama to Patna, the responsibility of completing every work of Anant rested on Kartikeya. In the same year, after the punishment of Anant Singh, his legislature went away. Now a by-election is to be held on Anant Singh's Mokama seat. Anant's wife Neelam has announced to contest from this seat. Kartikeya Master has also been seen promoting him along with Neelam in Mokama.

How many cases are pending against Kartikeya?

In the election affidavit, Karthikeya has given information about four cases registered against him. In these cases, he faces charges related to theft, kidnapping, rioting, obstructing government work, criminal conspiracy, extortion, and rioting armed with deadly weapons. Along with this, he is also accused of causing damage to a public road, bridge, river, or channel.

What role is being considered by Anant Singh in making Kartikeya a minister?

Kartikeya had won the Patna MLC seat in the elections held in April last. It is said that Lalu Yadav had given a ticket to Kartikeya only at the behest of Anant Singh. Jailed Anant had guaranteed Kartikeya's victory. Patna and its surrounding area are considered a BJP stronghold. Even after this, Master Karthikeya was successful in winning. JD(U) candidate Valmiki Singh slipped to the third position from the NDA side.

After the formation of the government, Kartikeya Singh also got a place in the cabinet. The role of Anant Singh is also believed to be behind this. Kartikeya comes from Bhumihar caste. It is said that it was because of Anant that Lalu and Tejashwi Yadav had vetoed Karthikeya Kumar giving ministerial posts. This is the reason why he got the post of minister even after the protest. The feud between JDU President Lalan Singh and Anant Singh is well known in the politics of Bihar. It is said that even after Lalan's opposition, Anant Singh was successful in getting Karthikeya to become a minister.

Kartikeya is also the second richest minister from the Nitish cabinet

According to the election affidavit, Kartikeya Singh has total assets of 22.99 crores. Kartikeya is the second richest minister in the Nitish cabinet. The richest minister in the Nitish cabinet is Summer Mahaseth of the RJD quota. Mahaseth has assets worth Rs 24.45 crore. There are five ministers in Nitish's cabinet whose assets are more than 10 crores.
