Patna, Jan 29 (IANS) A youth died and two were critically injured after being brutally beaten for allegedly pasting posters defaming a girl in Bihar's Gaya district, police said Thursday.
Tension prevails in Asni village under Guraru police station in Gaya, about 100 km from here where the incident occurred, police added.
Guraru police station officer in charge Amardip Kumar said that an FIR had been lodged by the family of two injured youth.
Some posters claimimg relationship of a girl with a youth were found plastered across the village last Monday.
Family members of both the girl and the youth assaulted Ramesh Thakur suspecting him to be behind the posters.
Thakur revealed involvement of two other boys Dipak and Vikki, who were also beaten.
Ramesh succcumbed to his injuries during treatment at Anugrah Narain Medical College and Hospital in Gaya.
