Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) guide Indresh Kumar said that implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is the need of the hour. Different laws for different communities lead to discrimination and inequality in society.
The civil code should be one in the country.
When there is one country, one constitution, and one justice system, then the civil code should also be one. This will guarantee justice and respect for Muslim women. Indresh Kumar was addressing the All India Executive Meeting of MRM in Tagore Hall of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti in Rajghat.
More than 100 office bearers attended the meeting. Indresh Kumar said that practices like triple talaq or halala and polygamy are evil practices that hinder the progress of Muslim society. The basic message of Islam is peace and humanity, but some people are distorting it for their selfishness.
The time has come
Indresh said that the time has come for us to move forward on the path of reform. He said that Waqf properties should be used for the upliftment of Muslim society and the welfare of poor Muslims. It is necessary to stop the illegal occupation of Waqf land and corruption. Indresh Kumar said that the disputes of Kashi and Mathura can also be resolved through dialogue and in an amicable manner.
Today's Muslims are not ready to carry the deeds of Babar, Aurangzeb, and other foreign invaders on their heads. We should accept historical mistakes and follow the path of justice. Similarly, it is necessary to expose those who do communal politics by using conversion as a weapon.
Shah Mukti Abhiyan will be run
After the meeting, MRM National Convenor and Media Incharge Shahid Saeed said that along with discussions and opinion polls on various burning issues, it has been decided to start a drug de-addiction campaign to keep Muslim youth away from drugs and to establish 'Imdad Fund' to help the poor, widows, orphans and the needy.
National convenor Mohammad Afzal, former Jharkhand minister Dr. Shahid Akhtar, former Rajasthan minister of state Abu Bakar Naqvi, former Madhya Pradesh minister of state SK Muddin, former Uttar Pradesh minister of state Majahir Khan, former Uttarakhand minister of state Bilal ur Rehman and others were present in the meeting.
