Security has been tightened at several district courts in Delhi following a bomb threat on Tuesday. Following the threat, the courts in Saket, Dwarka, Patiala House, and Rohini were immediately evacuated, and a thorough search was conducted.
Court proceedings were immediately suspended due to the bomb threat. All judges, lawyers, staff, and visitors were immediately evacuated from the buildings. Bomb squads and security personnel thoroughly checked the entire premises. Special security arrangements were made at the Patiala House Court, where the bomb squad conducted a thorough search.
Alert at Saket Court
After the security checks are completed, court proceedings may be allowed to resume after lunch. In a notice issued by Anil Basoya, Advocate, Honorary Secretary of the Saket Court Bar Association, members were informed that due to a security issue in the court premises, all court work was temporarily suspended for the next two hours. The information urged all members to remain calm, cooperate with authorities, and avoid unnecessary crowding or panic.
Such threats have been received before
This is not the first time Delhi courts have faced such threats. In September, the Delhi High Court also received an email containing a bomb threat, forcing judges to abruptly leave their courts and evacuate the premises. These incidents have raised serious questions about the security of the courts.
Search operations underway ahead of Jaseer Bilal's appearance
Meanwhile, searches are underway in Rohini and Patiala House Courts. The bomb squad and dog squad are conducting searches at Patiala House Court ahead of the appearance of accused Jaseer Bilal alias Danish by the National Investigation Agency.
Two CRPF schools in Delhi also received threats; the investigation yielded no results.
On Tuesday morning, two Central Reserve Police Force schools in Delhi received emails threatening to bomb them. This caused a stir. However, after a thorough investigation, it was found that the threat was false. There was no threat of any kind.
The incident came to light around 9 am on Tuesday when CRPF schools in Prashant Vihar and Dwarka, Delhi, simultaneously received bomb threats via email. Immediately after receiving the information, the Delhi Fire Service and local police swung into action.
Following the threat, both schools were immediately evacuated, and a thorough search operation was carried out. Senior police officials said that both schools were thoroughly searched, but nothing suspicious was found. Based on the preliminary investigation, it was declared a hoax.
