Amidst the strong demand for complete cancellation of the integrated 70th Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), re-examination will be held at only 22 centers in Patna on Saturday. Candidates who appeared in the examination held at the Bapu Examination Complex on 13th December will appear for the examination again at these centers. The government has tightened the security for this.

On the other hand, there was a lot of commotion in Patna on Friday demanding the cancellation of the examination at all centers. In the morning, the train was stopped, the round of dharna-demonstration continued in Gandhi Maidan and Gardanibagh, and in the evening, a torch procession was taken out and slogans were raised against the state government and BPSC.

Amidst the demonstration, BPSC and the district and police administration were busy finalizing the action plan throughout the day for the peaceful conduct of the examination. The sub-divisional magistrate of Patna Sadar and Danapur has issued an order to impose prohibitory orders at the centers in their area.

The candidates sitting on the dharna have called for protesting by tying black bands at all the centers. Given the possibility of protests by candidates and various parties, the administration has made tight arrangements.

60 magistrates have been appointed for the examination at 22 centers.

In this, 24 static, 22 zonal magistrates, and 14 magistrates will be reserved in the district control room.

Seven flying squad teams will be active.

According to District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, the entry of the candidates in the center will be between 9.30 am to 11.00 am. After that, entry will not be allowed under any circumstances. The duration of the examination is fixed from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. Prohibitory orders have been issued around all the centers.

BPSC Secretary Satyaprakash Sharma said that if any report of disruption or misconduct in the examination is received from the district administration regarding the candidate, strict action will be taken.

Control room for suggestions and complaints

The control room of BPSC will remain open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The helpline number 0612-2215354 will accept suggestions and complaints. The district control room (0612-2219810/2219234) will work 24 hours.

The train stopped, FIR against MP, and PK's fast continued.

On Friday morning, workers under the leadership of Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav stopped the train at Secretariat Halt demanding the cancellation of the examination of all centers on December 13. Hundreds of candidates and parents reached Gandhi Maidan to support the fast unto death of Prashant Kishore, the mastermind of the Jan Suraj Party.

FIR has been filed against 18 people including Pappu Yadav and 10 MLAs on the charges of stopping the train and demonstrating without permission. Prashant Kishore's fast continues at Gandhi Maidan.
