Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attended the inaugural function of the 'BRICS Business Forum'. During this, PM Modi said that BRICS was established with the belief that this group of emerging economies can emerge as an engine of global growth. Today, when the whole country is focusing on post covid recovery, then the role of BRICS countries will once again be very important.
He said that to deal with the economic problems arising out of the pandemic, we adopted the mantra of Reform, Perform and Transform in India and the result of this approach is clear from the performance of the Indian economy. This year we are expecting 7.5% growth which makes us the fastest-growing major economy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in New India, transformative changes are taking place in every sector. Today I want to focus your attention on four major aspects. First, a key pillar of India's current economic recovery is technology-led growth. We are supporting innovation in every sector.
He said that we have made an innovation-friendly policy in many areas like Space, Blue Economy, Green Hydrogen, Drones, Jio Special, and Data. Today India has one of the best ecosystems for innovation in the world which is reflected in the growing number of Indian startups.
Improvements to deal with the problem after Corona
Modi said, to deal with the economic problems arising out of the Corona pandemic, in India, we have adopted the mantra of 'Reform, Perform and Change'. Its consequences are evident from the performance of the Indian economy. Today, India has one of the best ecosystems in the world for innovation. This is reflected in the growing number of Indian start-ups. There are more than 100 unicorns in over 70,000 start-ups in India, and their number continues to grow.
The process of bringing transparency to government policies continues
Modi said, even during the pandemic, relentless efforts to improve the ease of doing business continued. Thousands of rules were changed to reduce the burden on business. Not only this, continuous work is going on to bring more transparency to the policies of the government. Apart from this, the work of developing infrastructure for business in the country is also going on fast.
36% of our 4.4 million professionals in the IT sector are women
Modi said the participation of women has also increased here. About 36 percent of the 44 lakh professionals in the eye sector are women. Apart from this, most of the technology-based financial facilities in rural areas have gone to women. Modi said the BRICS Women's Business Alliance can study this transformative change in India.
