On the morning of 24th November, there was a huge uproar during the survey of Jama Masjid in Sambhal, in which five people lost their lives. So far 12 FIRs have been registered in this case. 41 accused including three women are in jail. In search of other absconding accused, police teams have raided Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Bihar apart from UP.
Even after this, the police are not able to get concrete information about the absconding accused. When police obtained the CDR of the accused's mobile, it was found that the accused had not using the mobile since the incident. The police also obtained the details of the bank accounts of the accused, so that it could be ascertained whether the accused used debit or credit cards. Despite this, no success was achieved.

Police sources say that CDRs of more than 200 people are being obtained to investigate whether the accused are in contact with them or not.
