P Chidambaram on Budget 2022: The country's budget for the year 2022-23 has been presented. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented this budget. After this, the Prime Minister and all the BJP leaders praised the budget fiercely and called it better for every section. But by holding a press conference on behalf of Congress, this budget of the Modi government was termed as lollipop budget.
Work is being done to make the rich of the country richer - Chidambaram
Former Finance Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram accused the government that, instead of RBI, today the Finance Minister announced that cryptocurrency will now be legal in the country. This has been done at the behest of very rich people of the country. All this is not beneficial for 99.99% of the people of India.
Chidambaram said that the rich are getting richer in India. The income of 142 rich people of the country has increased manifold. The total money received by the government is 42 lakh crores and all these rich have increased their wealth by about 30 lakh crores, the time is not far when they will overtake the total money received by the government.
Chidambaram told what are the real issues
The former Finance Minister told what things the government and Finance Minister Sitharaman should have kept in mind before the budget speech. He said that India's economy has not yet reached the pre-pandemic level. Lakhs of people lost their jobs in the last two years, some people lost their jobs forever. In these two years, the income of 84 percent of the families has suffered a setback. Instead of increasing per capita income, it is decreasing. About 4.6 crore people have been pushed into extreme poverty. Apart from this, Chidambaram mentioned the education of children in rural India, malnutrition among children, India's falling rank in the Global Hunger Index, and unemployment rate in urban areas.
After mentioning all these issues, Congress leader P Chidambaram said that, after the presentation of the budget this morning, we asked ourselves, what was done in the budget to deal with these serious challenges? We did not get anything in response.
In this press conference, Congress leader Chidambaram alleged that the government is doing the work of fooling the people. The government behaves and acts as if they are on the right track. It is reaching the important issues of the people… but all this is wrong. It shows the disrespect of the people.
Chidambaram asked - people should wait till Amritakal?
Referring to the development of the next 25 years, the government named it Amritkal. Taking a jibe at this, Chidambaram said that, to my surprise, the Finance Minister was preparing the roadmap for the next 25 years. The government believes that there is no need to pay attention to any issue at the moment and the people living in the present can be asked to sit and wait peacefully till the dawn of Amritkal. This is nothing but a mockery of the people of India, especially the poor and downtrodden.
