The general budget is being discussed in the Rajya Sabha today. However, opposition leaders believe that the Modi government has not given anything to any state except two states in the general budget. Congress says that the government has discriminated against the states.

This is a budget to save seats: Kharge.

The general budget is being discussed in the Rajya Sabha today. Taking part in the discussion, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, that except for two states, no state got anything in this budget. I have never seen such a budget. Only two states were given pakodas on their plates. All this has happened to save seats. We will condemn this and oppose it. All INDI alliances are opposing this budget. If there is no balance, how will there be development?"

The Finance Minister responded to Kharge's allegations.

On the other hand, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman responded to Kharge's allegations. She said, "In every budget, you do not get a chance to name every state of this country. The cabinet had decided to set up a port at Vadavan. But Maharashtra was not named in the budget yesterday. Does this mean that Maharashtra feels neglected?

The Finance Minister further said that if a particular state is named in the speech, does it mean that Government of India programs do not go to these states? This is a deliberate attempt by the Opposition led by Congress to give the impression to the people that nothing has been given to our states. This is an outrageous allegation."
