The sourness in Canada-India relations over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar is not subsiding. Recently, it seemed that the situation between the two countries regarding trade was improving, but a senior Canadian minister has indicated that instead of resuming trade talks, the Canadian government will investigate the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Focusing on getting cooperation from India.

According to a report, while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in San Francisco, Canada's Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade, and Economic Development Mary Ng said that Canada's entire focus is on pursuing the investigation. The Team Canada trade mission to India in October led by Ng was also canceled.

"A Canadian is openly killed on Canadian soil," Ng said when asked if trade talks could resume. So, you must have heard me and the government saying that testing is very important. We will let this happen. Although he did not directly link cooperation to the investigation and negotiations, he said, 'Our focus is definitely on this investigation.'

this is the case

The Canadian Prime Minister had alleged India's involvement in Nijjar's murder. After this, India rejected these allegations and called them absurd and politically motivated. Along with this, both the countries have expelled one top diplomat of the other. India has also temporarily suspended visa services for Canadian citizens.

It is noteworthy that Canada has not yet provided any public evidence in support of the claim of the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
