The Indian team recently defeated England 3-0 in the three-match ODI series. Now Team India's eyes are on winning the title in the Champions Trophy. India won this trophy in 2013 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Suresh Raina, who was a part of that team then, has told us what India's playing-11 could be like in the Champions Trophy this time.
This tournament is very big for India. After 2013, when the Champions Trophy was organized in England in 2017, Team India had to face defeat from Pakistan in the final. This time the Indian team will try to avenge that defeat and win the title.
Suresh Raina told the playing-11
While talking to Star Sports, Raina selected his playing-11 for the Champions Trophy. In this, he took a surprising decision. Raina has not selected the best fast bowler Mohammed Shami in his playing-11. He has expressed confidence in the pair of Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh. Apart from this, Raina has also retained wicketkeeper KL Rahul who has been continuously failing and has kept Rishabh Pant out.
Raina said, "With Rana's arrival, the team will have variations. He has a slow bouncer and can swing the ball. Hardik Pandya will play an important role as the third seamer. We have not used him much yet.
Kuldeep Yadav will be the trump card.
Suresh Raina has described Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav as a trump card. Raina has said that Akshar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja will stop the runs in the middle overs and Kuldeep will take wickets. He said, "Kuldeep Yadav is going to play an important role because Akshar and Jadeja will stop the runs in the middle overs and Kuldeep will take wickets. Especially against Pakistan who play sweep shots well. New Zealand has many left-handed batsmen. The kind of pressure Kuldeep will create, the batsman will go for a big shot and lose his wicket."
India's playing-11 selected by Suresh Raina.
Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh.
