Supported Shami
A Maulana had raised questions about Shami not fasting during Ramadan. Now the Congress spokesperson's statement has come regarding the uproar. He said,
"There is a very important thing that happens during Ramadan in Islam. When we are traveling, we do not need to fast, so Mohammed Shami is traveling and he is not at his home. He is playing a sport in which he may feel very thirsty. No one insists that when you are playing a sport, you have to fast. Your deeds are very important."
Islam is a scientific religion.
Congress spokesperson Shama Mohammed further said that Islam is a very scientific religion and nothing is imposed on anyone in it. He said that if Shami is on a tour, then he does not need to keep Roza.
Questions were raised on Shami not keeping Roza.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, President of All India Muslim Jamaat, made a comment about Mohammad Shami, which created a controversy. He said that Mohammad Shami did wrong by not keeping Roza during the game.
What did Maulana say about Shami?
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi said that one of the mandatory duties is 'Roza' (fasting). If a healthy man or woman does not keep 'Roza', he will be a big criminal. A famous cricket personality of India, Mohammad Shami took water or any other beverage during the match. People were watching him. If he is playing, it means that he is healthy. In such a situation, he did not keep 'Roza' and also drank water. This sends a wrong message to the people.
He further said that by not keeping 'Roza', he has committed a crime. He should not do this. In the eyes of Sharia, he is a criminal. He will have to answer to God.
