Chandrayaan-3 New Pic India's Chandrayaan 3 has successfully landed on the Moon. After Chandrayaan 3's lander landed at the South Pole, the rover 'Pragyan', which used a different experiment, also exited the lander through the ramp. Its first picture has now come to the fore. The picture shows the rover exiting a few hours after the 'Vikram' lander touched down on the lunar surface.

The first picture of the rover coming off the lander on the ramp was posted on X by INSPACe President Pawan K Goenka.

Lander link established with ISRO

Explain that with the exit of the rover, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has also established a communication link with its lander, which will now be able to gather information about the moon. "Communication link has been established between Chandrayaan-3 lander and MOX-ISTRAC, ISRO's communication center at Bengaluru," ISRO said.

The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft consisted of a propulsion module (weighing 2,148 kg), a lander (1,723.89 kg), and a rover (26 kg). Out of this only Lander and Rover have landed on the moon.

ISRO will be able to contact Lander and Rover

The primary communication channel for the Chandrayaan-3 propulsion module will be the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Mission Operations Complex in Bengaluru, which will communicate with the lander and rover.

First communication with Chandrayaan-2's orbiter

Earlier, ISRO had said that the moon lander has established a communication link with the orbiter of the Chandrayaan-2 mission, which has been circling the moon since 2019. The space agency also said that the Mission Operations Complex now has more channels to communicate with the lander.

In other words, the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter will be the backup communication channel for ISRO with the lander.
