Changes: LG government in Delhi, the central government issued notification of new law

Now the government in Delhi will mean the Lieutenant Governor. In fact, in Delhi, the Central Government has issued a notification after the President approved the National Capital Territory Governance (Amendment) Act 2021 i.e. the GNTCD Act. The notification by the Ministry of Home Affairs states, "The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2021 is notified with effect from 27 April". This means that now no executive action can be taken without the approval of the Lieutenant Governor (LG).

 

 

Delhi government will have to take the advice of Lt. Governor

According to this notification, in the context of the legislation passed in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, the Government will mean the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. With this, the Delhi government will have to seek the advice of the Lieutenant Governor before taking any executive step.

 

 

Explain that after passing this bill in the Lok Sabha on March 22, it was passed in the Rajya Sabha on March 24 and the bill was also passed by the Rajya Sabha. The Bill also proposes to ensure that the Lieutenant Governor must be allowed to exercise the power entrusted under clause 4 of Article 239A of the Constitution to the selected category in cases.

 

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's problem may increase

 

According to the amendment made in the law, now the government will have to send the legislative proposal to the Lieutenant Governor at least 15 days in advance and the administrative proposal at least 7 days in advance. According to experts, due to this law, the problem of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's government may increase. After the bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the decision an insult to the people of Delhi. When the bill passed, many opposition parties, including Congress, attacked the Modi government fiercely. At the same time, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had tweeted, "Today is a dark day for democracy." They called it a sad day for democracy. '
