Method of Usha Arghya

On this day, while offering Arghya to the Sun God, keep your face towards the east.

Always use a copper vessel for offering Arghya.

While offering water to the Sun God, always hold the water vessel with both hands.

While offering Arghya to the Sun, it is considered very auspicious to see the rays falling on the water's edge.

While offering Arghya, put intact and red-colored flowers in the vessel.

 

Importance of Usha Arghya

The four-day Chhath Puja concludes with Usha Arghya. On this day, the fast of Chhath is broken after offering Arghya to the rising sun. People observing fast on this day reach the river ghat before sunrise and offer Arghya to the rising sun.
