Claims circulating on social media platforms, especially Instagram and WhatsApp, over the past few days regarding petrol and diesel shortages have been found to be completely baseless and false. Petroleum companies and official sources have clarified that India has sufficient fuel reserves and the supply system is completely normal.

A reel is rapidly going viral on social media claiming that crude oil supplies to India will be disrupted due to Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The claim advises people to immediately go to a petrol pump to fill their vehicles to avoid a sharp price hike and shortages.

Indian Oil's statement

The company has clarified that the supply and distribution network is normal. Clarifying some videos related to the Panipat refinery, the company said that the dispute between workers and contractors has been resolved and the refinery is operating smoothly.

The company wrote on Instagram that the reports circulating on social media regarding petrol and diesel shortages are completely baseless. India has adequate fuel stocks, and the supply and distribution networks are functioning normally.

IndianOil is fully committed to maintaining uninterrupted fuel supplies. Citizens are assured that there is no need to worry.

Please avoid unnecessary crowding at petrol pumps and rely only on official sources for accurate information.

HPCL's assurance

HPCL has also appealed to citizens not to panic and rush to petrol pumps. Fuel supplies continue uninterrupted across the country. Adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available, and the supply system is operating smoothly. All citizens are requested not to panic and rush to petrol pumps and rely only on information received from official sources.
