"Entire manifesto appears to be devoid of credibility and lacking seriousness. It is not a manifesto but a document of deceit. It is an insult of the people of India," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
"They promise eight percent-plus growth in the manifesto... while the growth rate is 4.6 percent. Can there be a greater fraud?" he said.
The BJP also slammed the Congress for saying it reduced poverty during its tenure. "Whole statistics of poverty reduction is the biggest fraud of this government," he said.
On the issue of empowering minorities, the BJP spokesman said: "Only the elite Muslims have benefited from the Congress. What about the common Muslim?"
