Former Rajasthan minister and Congress MLA from Sangod Bharat Singh have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the removal of Mahatma Gandhi's photo from big notes. He wrote in the letter that Mahatma Gandhi is a symbol of truth and there is a picture of Gandhiji on the 500 and 2000 notes. These are mostly used in bribery transactions. He has suggested to the Prime Minister that by removing the picture of Gandhiji from the 500 and 2000 notes, only the photo of his spectacles should be used or the photo of Ashok Chakra should be installed.

The use of big notes in other illegal parties also

The big 500 and 2000 rupee notes bearing Gandhiji's picture are also misused by sacrificing the dancers at liquor parties, bars, and other parties.

Bapu's picture should be printed only on notes ranging from Rs.5 to Rs.200

He has written in the letter that 616 trap cases were registered in Rajasthan in about a year. On average two cases are reported daily in the state. The amount of bribe is used in cash to trap. 500 to 2000 rupees notes are exchanged in these notes. Which has Gandhiji's photo on it. In this way, they are insulted instead of respected. His picture should be printed on 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 small notes. These notes are useful for the poor. Gandhiji worked among the poor people.
