A delivery boy belonging to a well-known pizza chain in Delhi has been fueled by the corona virus being confirmed. As soon as this information was received, the District Magistrate of South Delhi on Wednesday asked the families living in 72 houses in one area to go to the home quarantine.
According to DM Mishra said that a delivery boy of a well-known pizza chain in Malviya Nagar area on Tuesday came up with Corona virus test positive, after which officials immediately asked 16 of his colleagues to drop him at the outlet. Along with this, a special mark was put up to identify each house, where the pizza was delivered by the outlet.
Mishra said that during investigation we found that 72 houses had taken delivery from that outlet and hence all have been asked to follow precautionary measures and go to self quarantine.
He said that there is no need to panic as he informed all the delivery boys to use masks and follow safety measures at the time of delivery, but the decision to send all the contact persons in quarantine was necessary as a precaution.
Currently, the victim delivery boy is undergoing treatment at a hospital, while others who come in contact with him are being monitored on a daily basis.
Some orders from this outlet were also delivered through food delivery chain Zomato. It has been reported that the corona test report of the delivery boy's other associates has turned negative. At the same time, the restaurant has currently suspended operations as a precaution.
At the same time, Jomato has issued a statement saying that all of his rider's associates associated with the said pizza chain have been test negative and have suspended work with that restaurant as a precaution.
