Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Thursday that the peak of the third wave of corona pandemic seems to have passed from the national capital. However, he still cautioned that the city was not out of danger yet.
During a conversation with reporters, Jain said that with a recent record jump in the daily cases of corona in Delhi, up to 28,000 cases were registered and the positivity rate had also gone above 30 percent.
He said, “That surge can be considered as the peak point of the third wave of corona in Delhi and we seem to have crossed that point. The daily cases of corona have decreased in the last few days. Yesterday (Wednesday) around 13,000 cases were registered and the positivity rate stood at 24. And today the number of new cases is less than that.
28,867 cases were found in Delhi on January 13
On January 13, 28,867 new cases were reported in the national capital, the biggest jump since the start of the corona pandemic. The positivity rate during that time was 29.21 percent. After this, on January 14, the positivity rate had increased to more than 30 percent.
Although Jain cautioned that the peak of the corona wave in Delhi may have passed we still cannot be out of danger and we will have to keep an eye on the figures. On the question of easing restrictions, he said that these steps have also contributed to reducing the cases of corona and before taking any decision regarding relaxation in restrictions, we have to first monitor the situation in the coming days.
Claimed- Daily investigation in Delhi getting more than every state
On questions about the lack of corona testing, Jain claimed that Delhi is still conducting more daily tests than any other state and no one is being denied testing if needed.
