Corona Virus: Third case came up in Punjab, one patient died, other's condition did not improve

Another patient infected with the corona virus has appeared in Punjab and with this the number of positive patients has increased to three. One patient has died. The condition of other positive patients is also not improving. Apart from this, many suspected patients have come up, whose sample is being investigated.

Third case in Mohali

A third case of Corona was found in Mohali district on Friday. An elderly woman from Phase 3 has been confirmed to have corona. The woman returned from the UK some time ago. His age is said to be 69 years. The woman will be kept in the civil hospital itself. The woman's area is sealed. Simultaneously, people coming in contact with the woman are also being investigated.

Nawanshahar resident dies of elderly

With this death in SBS Nagar (Nawanshahar), the number of people who died of this disease in the country has reached four. On March 7, the 70-year-old man who died, arrived at Delhi Airport via Germany from Italy. He reached his village the same day. He was already a patient of diabetes and high blood pressure. He was kept under medical supervision at home.

No improvement in Hoshiarpur resident's condition

The resident of Hoshiarpur returned from Italy on 4 March is still not free from corona infection. A second investigation conducted at the Influenza Lab at Government Medical College has also found him corona positive. Earlier this person's blood was first tested in AIIMS Delhi, where his report came positive. After this, his sample was sent to National Institute of Virology Lab Pune on 7 March. She was also declared Corona positive in a report from Pune on March 9.

The corona-positive patient returned from Italy with his 15-year-old son and wife. A sample of his wife and son was also investigated, whose report came out negative. Actually, the primary test report of this man's son was said to be positive from AIIMS, but it was declared negative in Pune lab. This person is under treatment at the isolation ward at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar. Suspected patients are also being brought daily in isolation ward. The person is kept in a separate room.

Buses stop operating from today

A group of ministers, formed to deal with the threat of corona in Punjab, took several important decisions on Thursday. It was chaired by the local body minister Brahma Mohindra. All public transport (government-private buses and autos) will cease to operate from 12 midnight on Friday, 20 March.

The district Sri Anandpur Sahib has been completely sealed due to the panic of Corona virus. Entry of vehicles in Shri Anandpur Sahib has also been stopped. The Punjab Board's 10th and 12th class examinations have also been postponed to 31 March.

Only 20 people attend the wedding and funeral

The Minister said that the Group of Ministers has also decided to limit the number of people to 20 for ceremonies like marriages and funerals. The organizers of such ceremonies have been advised to follow the hand washing protocol and proper cleaning.

Ban on eating in hotels, restaurants and dhabas

The Group of Ministers has instructed all the Deputy Commissioners, SSP, CMO, SMO not to leave the station. Marriage palace, banquet halls in the state have decided to ban conferences, seminars and ceremonies. Apart from this, eating and drinking has also been banned in hotels, restaurants and dhabas. However, there will be an exemption for ordering food at home or packing it home. All types of 'public dealing' in government offices have also been banned with immediate effect.

Amritsar-Dubai flight canceled

Spice Jet Airlines has canceled the Amritsar-Dubai flight till 22 April. On Thursday, just six passengers left for Spice Jet's Amritsar-Dubai flight to Dubai, amid precautions being taken about the Corona virus. All passengers were residents of England. These passengers will be flown to Heathrow Airport from Dubai Airport. Earlier, two flights between Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur were also canceled.

Dental college-hospital closed, classes postponed

In a meeting of the Group of Ministers in Punjab, it has been decided to increase the number of Isolation wards established in various public, private hospitals and medical institutions. Further, services should be strengthened by ensuring availability of medical and para-medical staff and adequate stock of medicines.

Similarly regular OPD services in hospitals have also been postponed, but emergency services will be continued round the clock in all hospitals and PHCs. The Group of Ministers has also decided to close all dental colleges and hospitals by 31 March with immediate effect.

The classes of first and second year students in medical colleges have been postponed while the third and fourth year classes will be continued. Similarly the classes of first year students in nursing colleges have been closed till March 31, but classes of nursing students will continue from the second year onwards. To deal with emergencies, the third and fourth year students of the medical colleges are being trained to take care of Kovid-19 patients.
