How dangerous the new variant is can be gauged by the fact that despite the R-TPCR test in many cases the infection with this virus is not being detected. According to many hospitals in Delhi, they are getting many such patients who are showing symptoms of corona but the test is coming negative. Even after doing RT-PCR several times, the result is coming negative. Dr. Ashish Chaudhary, director of Aakash Healthcare, says, 'We have had many such patients in the last few days. He had a fever, had difficulty in breathing and after scanning the city of Piedras, light-colored or gray color spots are visible. This is a well-known symptom of corona. '
He further stated that some such patients were taken to the lungs by inserting a flexible device in the mouth or nose, and when they were collected and tested with fluid, they were confirmed to be coronas. This process is called bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL). Dr. Chaudhary said that all the patients with symptoms of corona who had come negative in the normal test have come positive in the test done by this procedure.
Dr. Pratibha Kale, associate professor of clinical microbiology at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, says, "It is possible that the virus has not made a home in the nose or throat, due to which the virus has not been detected by the swab sample." He further stated that the virus may have acquired a place in S. receptors. These S receptors are proteins that are found in lung cells. So when a fluid sample is being examined, corona infection is confirmed.
Dr. Vivek Nangia, Chief of Pulmonology Division of Max Healthcare, says that about 15-20% of the patients have suffered from this problem, the patients show heavy symptoms of corona but their test is negative. If such patients are admitted to the general hospital instead of Corona hospital, then the risk of spreading the disease is greatly increased, as well as the treatment is delayed due to non-detection of infection. Doctor Nangia says that compared to the last time, there has been a lot of change in the symptoms of the patients, so the possibility of mutation of the virus cannot be ruled out.
Dr. Arup Basu, Senior Consultant, Sir Gangaram Hospital, says that this time the symptoms of runny nose, colds, and conjunctivitis are also being seen in patients, which were not there before. Many patients are not having phlegm, shortness of breath, and the city scan of the lungs is also normal, but there is a continuous fever for 8-9 days, due to which they have to be admitted to the hospital.
