The increasing cases of Covid-19 in children in America have increased the concern of the government. The cases are increasing continuously here. It is also a matter of concern that about 15 percent of the new cases coming to America every day are being found inside children. This has been revealed in the research of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). However, during this period, cases of deaths of children due to Covid-19 have been reported very rarely. According to the data, less than two percent of the children were admitted to the hospital due to Covid-19. During the last one week, 94 thousand children have been treated here. These figures are shocking in themselves.
According to the available data of AAP, due to corona in the country has been around .03. From the beginning of the epidemic till 5th August 2021, about 43 lakh children in the country were found positive with Covid-19. The AAP report states that since July, its cases among children have increased rapidly. At present, about 60 percent of children under the age of 12 have been completely vaccinated, while about 70 percent of children have been given at least one dose of the vaccine.
However, at present, the corona vaccine is not being given to children below 12 years of age in the country. Let us tell you that in the US, the corona vaccine of Pfizer Company has been approved for use on people aged 12 years and above. Its Moderna and Janssen vaccines have been approved for 18 years and above.
It is believed that Pfizer's corona vaccine may be approved for use on children under the age of 12 in the US by October this year. Let us tell you that schools have been opened in America. Because of this, the increasing number of cases of children remains a matter of concern. The latest figures from the Center for Disease Control show that children in the age group of 5-15 years are more vulnerable to it.
Francis Collins, director of the National Institute of Health, says that since the Corona epidemic, on Sunday, the highest number of children in the country have been hospitalized due to Corona. He says that due to people being careless and giving up the mask, cases have increased rapidly here. In this context, the risk of infection in children returning to school has also increased.
Because of this, the CDC has recommended to the government that all children over the age of two years present indoors have been asked to wear masks. According to the CDC, school staff, teachers and visitors there have also been asked to compulsorily wear masks, whether they have been vaccinated or not. Many states have also given information about the ICU being filled in their place. President Joe Biden has also expressed concern over the increasing cases. He has said that he is worried about the increasing cases of corona in children. He also says that in some states the slow pace of vaccines remains a problem.
It is also affecting the children. He has appealed that those who have not taken the vaccine yet, get their vaccine done as soon as possible. According to him, about 51 percent of the country's population has been vaccinated. More than 71 percent of adults have been given at least one dose of the vaccine.
