The next meeting of the opposition alliance 'India' formed to counter the ruling NDA and BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections may be held in the third week of December. Sources said that in this meeting the distribution of seats among the allies for the Lok Sabha elections will be discussed. According to sources, the date of the meeting has not been decided yet, but it will be held between 17-20 December.

The constituents of the India alliance are pressing for a speedy decision on seat sharing in several states so that candidates get enough time to campaign and assess the situation on the ground. Floor leaders of the India Alliance met at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday to discuss the strategy for the winter session of Parliament. On Thursday, TMC MP Derek O'Brien was the only leader of the India alliance to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

O'Brien attended the ceremony as a representative of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Revanth Reddy had personally invited TMC chief Mamata Banerjee to the swearing-in ceremony, but she could not attend the ceremony due to pre-scheduled events. The ceremony was attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, besides Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah and Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

During the meeting of opposition leaders held on Monday morning to decide the strategy for the winter session of Parliament, Trinamool Congress leaders also raised the issue of seat sharing. The last meeting of India Alliance was held in Mumbai on 31 August and 1 September. After this, the coordination committee meeting of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) was held in New Delhi on 13 September.
