Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant played a brilliant innings against Gujarat Titans on Wednesday and achieved an amazing achievement. Pant scored an unbeaten 88 runs with the help of 5 fours and 8 sixes in just 43 balls in the 40th match of IPL 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The strike rate of the left-handed batsman was around 205.


 

Rishabh Pant has become the second batsman to score the most half-centuries for Delhi Capitals in IPL. Pant scored his 19th half-century for Delhi Capitals. By the way, the record of scoring most half-centuries in IPL for Delhi Capitals is held in the name of experienced Australian batsman David Warner. Warner has played 24 half-century innings for Delhi.


 

Dhawan-Viru left behind

By the way, Rishabh Pant broke the records of stalwarts like Shikhar Dhawan and Virender Sehwag by scoring a half-century against Gujarat Titans. Shikhar Dhawan has scored 18 half-centuries for Delhi Capitals in IPL. Due to Pant, Dhawan has now slipped to third place in terms of scoring the most half-centuries for the franchise. Whereas, Shreyas Iyer and Virender Sehwag are jointly in fourth position with 16-16 half-centuries.

Let us tell you that due to the stormy innings of Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals batted first and scored 224 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Gujarat Titans put up an amazing fight, but could only score 220 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Rishabh Pant led Delhi Capitals to win the match by 4 runs. With this victory, Pant Brigade has kept alive its hopes of reaching the playoffs.
