The swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Minister of Delhi is likely to take place after February 13. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of France and America from February 10-13. The BJP, which is returning to power after 26 years, wants the PM to be present at the swearing-in ceremony of the new government.
Meanwhile, the exercise in the party to elect a new Chief Minister has also intensified. On Sunday, BJP President JP Nadda met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. According to party sources, in the meeting between Nadda and Shah that lasted for about one and a half hours, there was a discussion on deciding the face for the CM post and the formation of the government.
Some more meetings can be held now. After the results of the assembly elections came on Saturday, a meeting of top party leaders was held at the BJP headquarters. The Prime Minister was also present in it. There are many names for the CM post, including Pravesh Verma, who defeated Kejriwal.
While deciding the face for this post, many political equations including Bihar assembly elections will be taken into consideration. The responsibility of this post can also be given to a Dalit face.
However, the party can also take a shocking decision and make a low profile leader the CM, as has been done in other states. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that the decision on the Chief Minister will be taken by the central leadership of the party.
