Bollywood film 'Udaipur Files' is still stuck in legal complications. The Center has permitted the release of this film. However, petitions have been filed in the Delhi High Court against this decision. The Delhi High Court has said that these petitions will be heard on July 30.

The Delhi High Court was informed that the CBFC has not yet re-certified the film 'Udaipur Files - Kanhaiya Lal Taylor Murder'.

The Supreme Court had sent the matter to the Delhi High Court.

Earlier, the Center had permitted the release of the film 'Udaipur Files' after suggesting 6 cuts. This decision of the Center was challenged by Arshad Madani of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and many others. After this, the Delhi High Court banned the release of the film. This matter reached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had directed the Delhi High Court to hear the petitions challenging the Center's permission to release the film on July 28. The Supreme Court had also said that it has not imposed any ban on the release of the film.

Announcement of the release date of the film

After the remarks of the Supreme Court, the director of the film Bharat Srinet announced its new release date on Friday. He said that the film will be released in theaters on August 8, 2025. Earlier, the film was scheduled to release on July 11. The director earlier told a media channel that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made 150 cuts in the film.

The film is based on murder.

The film 'Udaipur Files' is based on the murder case of Kanhaiya Lal in 2022. Kanhaiya Lal was murdered in June 2022 at his tailoring shop in the city of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The allegation was that Kanhaiya Lal had posted on social media in support of BJP leader Nupur Sharma.
