The Indian sports world has also mourned the Pahalgam terror attack. At the same time, former Indian cricketer Srivats Goswami has demanded a complete end to sports relations with Pakistan. 26 people have died in this attack on Tuesday, including two foreign nationals. This is the deadliest attack in the valley after the Pulwama attack in 2019. Baisaran, about six kilometers from Pahalgam town, is a vast grassland surrounded by dense forests of pine trees and mountains and is a favorite spot among tourists from the country and the world. The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy organization of the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) based in Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Former Indian team batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have also expressed grief over the attack and paid tribute to the victims. Sachin wrote the victim's families must be going through unimaginable suffering. People in India and around the world are with them in this difficult time. We pay tribute to those who lost their lives in this attack and pray for justice.

Veteran Indian batsman Virat Kohli, who is participating in IPL 2025, wrote on Instagram, "Deepest condolences to the victim's family. I pray for the families of those who have lost their lives in this cowardly attack and pray that the family gets the strength to bear this sorrow."

Shreevats Goswami gave the example of the Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Shreevats Goswami has strongly condemned the incident and demanded to end of all kinds of sports relations with Pakistan. Goswami wrote, "That's why I say that you should not play cricket with Pakistan. Not just now, but never." When the BCCI or the government refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, some people said that sports should be kept above politics. It seems that killing innocent Indians has become Pakistan's national sport and India should respond under zero tolerance, not with bat and ball.

There is no bilateral series between India and Pakistan.

It is known that the bilateral series between India and Pakistan has been stopped since 2012-13. BCCI refused to send India's team for the Champions Trophy held in February-March and the Indian team played all its matches including the final in Dubai. Goswami had recently visited Pahalgam. Goswami said that he felt hope and peace returning to the valley. Goswami said, and now there is bloodshed again. It breaks something inside you. It forces you to question how many more times will we be expected to keep quiet, and keep playing, while our people are dying. Not anymore. Not this time at all.

Vijender Singh demanded strict action.

Olympic medal winning boxer Vijender Singh has also demanded strict action. He said, our brave soldiers will definitely give a befitting reply to this cowardly attack in the coming times. In the presence of the brave sons of Mother India, the intentions of those who want to disturb the peace in Jammu and Kashmir will never succeed.

Siraj also reacted

Indian team's fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has also reacted to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He wrote on Twitter - Just read about the horrific and shocking terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Targeting and killing innocent civilians in the name of religion is completely sinful... No reason, no belief, no ideology can ever justify such a demonic act. What kind of fight is this? Where human life has no value.
