Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, accused in the money laundering case related to the Excise Policy scam, withdrew his petition seeking interim bail from Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court.
He had sought interim bail for the election campaign. Also, during the hearing of the case today on Saturday, CBI has opposed the regular bail application of Manish Sisodia. The CBI said that he should not be granted bail as he has been described as the mastermind in the case. CBI said that if Sisodia gets bail, he can influence further investigation and witnesses. If bail is granted at this time, their objective will be solved.
Decision reserved on the regular bail petition
Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has reserved its order on the bail plea of Manish Sisodia seeking regular bail in CBI and ED cases related to the Delhi Excise Policy. The court will give its verdict on this on April 30.
Sisodia's judicial custody extended to 26
It is known that the court extended the custody of Manish Sisodia till April 26 in the money laundering case related to the excise policy scam. ED produced Sisodia in Rouse Avenue court during the hearing. At the same time, Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, who is out on bail, also appeared through video conferencing.
Sisodia had sought interim bail in the court on April 12, so that he could campaign for the upcoming elections. At the same time, the court sent the accused Chanpreet Singh to judicial custody till 23 April. During the hearing, ED's counsel told the court that Singh did not need further ED custody.
