Shikhar Dhawan has strongly responded to the alleged false statements being spread on social media about his personal life following his second marriage. He recently married Sophie Shine. He previously separated from his ex-wife, Ayesha Mukherjee, in October 2023.
The controversy began when a post went viral on social media claiming Dhawan had said his ex-wife had taunted him, saying, "No one will marry you." The post also stated that by remarrying, Dhawan had given a befitting reply to this alleged comment. However, Dhawan categorically denied these claims and stated that he did not make any such statement.
"I don't carry the burden of the past."
Dhawan issued a clarification on his official social media account, writing, "I saw some posts on social media attributing a depressing statement to my personal life. I have never carried the burden of the past, whether on or off the field. I believe in the power of positivity and respect my past."
He further said, "This is a new chapter in my life, and I am deeply grateful for the love and blessings I have received from my fans, friends, family, well-wishers, and the media. I urge everyone not to use my name for clickbait, insensitive, and false statements on social media. Let's spread love and positivity. Thank you!" Dhawan's response was widely appreciated by his fans, with many praising his restrained and positive attitude.
Who is Sophie Shine?
