The team's journey ended after RCB's defeat in the eliminator match of IPL 2024. Along with this, wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has also prepared to retire from IPL. Dinesh Karthik had confirmed this during the match against Chennai itself. After the match, he received a guard of honor from his fellow players. He accepted the greeting by taking off his gloves.


 

In the eliminator match, Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 4 wickets. Batting first, RCB had scored 172 runs. Rajat Patidar scored the highest 34 runs on behalf of the team. Dinesh Karthik played an inning of 11 runs in his last IPL match.


 

This has been my IPL career

Dinesh Karthik started his IPL career in 2008 with Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals). After his stint with Delhi Capitals till 2010, he played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings, 2011), Mumbai Indians (2012–13), Delhi again in 2014, Royal Challengers Bangalore (2015), Gujarat Lions (2016–17). , associated with Kolkata Knight Riders (2018–21). He joined RCB back in the year 2022.


 

Won IPL trophy in the year 2013

Dinesh Karthik also won the IPL title in 2013 while living in Mumbai, which is his only IPL title to date. He also took Kolkata Knight Riders to the playoffs during his captaincy. Dinesh Karthik has played 257 IPL matches. During this period, 4842 runs have been scored at a strike rate of 135.36. His highest score has been 97 not out.
