Biden and the first lady will host a state dinner in Modi's honor that same evening. More than 100 guests, members of Congress, diplomats, and celebrities are expected to attend the dinner, the people say.
On June 22, PM Modi will address the US Congress at the invitation of Congress leaders including Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy and Majority Leader of Parliament Chuck Schumer. PM Modi will attend a lunch hosted by the US State Department on June 23. The luncheon event will be hosted by US Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
PM Modi will then also address an event in Washington organized by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, an independent non-profit organization. Top US CEOs and prominent leaders will be present at the event. After this, PM Modi will meet the heads of select business groups in America.
On the same day, Prime Minister Modi will address the Indian diaspora at an event at the Ronald Reagan Center in Washington. The participants will include doctors, hoteliers, lawyers, and industrialists of Indian origin.
