
The second death from Covid-19 has been reported in Karnataka. According to a senior health department official, a 70-year-old man died after being found Covid-19 positive in a hospital in Belagavi district. Harsh Gupta, Principal Secretary of, the Health and Family Welfare Department, Karnataka, confirmed this. According to the statement of the Health Department, this patient from Benkanahalli village in Belagavi died late on Wednesday night.
The patient was suffering from diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and Covid positive status. On May 26, he suffered a stroke, after which he was admitted to a private hospital in Belagavi. There he was given treatment under the Covid protocol in the respiratory medicine department, but he died due to deterioration in the condition. Earlier on May 17, an 84-year-old man died in Whitefield, Bangalore. He was found Covid positive in the postmortem test.
According to the health department bulletin, there are 148 active Covid-19 cases in Karnataka as of May 29. 42 new cases were registered on Thursday. A total of 513 tests were conducted on that day, including 463 RTPCR and 50 RAT, with a positivity rate of 8.18 percent and a mortality rate of 2.3 percent.
