Superstar Kiccha Sudeep's show "Bigg Boss Season 12" is making headlines in Karnataka these days. Recently, the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 house was sealed due to environmental violations. Now, following the intervention of Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, the show's set has been allowed to reopen. This decision brought a sigh of relief to show host Kiccha Sudeep, who expressed his gratitude to the government and officials on social media.
What was the matter?
This season's shooting was underway at Jollywood Studios in Bengaluru's Bidadi area. However, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) recently raided the studio and found numerous environmental violations. According to reports, the sewage treatment plant was out of order, and a generator was being used without permission.
Following this, the Bengaluru South District administration sealed the studio in the presence of police and KSRP forces. Electricity was cut off, and all Bigg Boss contestants were relocated to Eagleton Resort. There, they were kept under strict surveillance and were not even allowed to use mobile phones or televisions.
Government Intervention
Following this controversy, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar intervened. He tweeted that he had ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru South District to lift the seal on the Jollywood property so that the shooting of Bigg Boss Kannada 12 could resume.
DK Shivakumar also said, "Environmental protection is our priority, but the entertainment industry will also be given time and opportunity to comply with all regulations. Our goal is for the industry to thrive while the environment remains safe."
Kiccha Sudeep's Response
Show host Kiccha Sudeep immediately responded to DK Shivakumar's tweet. He wrote, "I sincerely thank DK Shivakumar sir for his timely support. I am also grateful to all the officials who recognized that the Bigg Boss team was not involved in any controversy. I especially appreciate the efforts of Nalapada ji." Sudeep's statement clearly shows that the Bigg Boss team fully cooperated with the issue, and the show will now proceed as scheduled.
Warnings Received Twice Before
Forest, Ecology, and Environment Minister Ishwar Khandre stated that the studio had been served two notices previously—on March 8 and June 11, 2024. Despite this, the rules were not followed, leading to strict action.
