New Delhi, Jan 14 (IANS) States affected by natural disasters will get assistance from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF), a government statement said Wednesday.
The decision was taken by a high-level committee chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here Wednesday.
"The committee took the decision to provide assistance to the disaster affected states from National Disaster Relief Fund as per its guidelines," said the statement.
The states selected for receiving the assistance from NDRF are Andhra Pradesh (for Hudhud cyclone), Arunachal Pradesh (for floods and drought) and Uttar Pradesh (for hailstorm and drought).
Union Minister for Finance Arun Jaitley, Union Minister of Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh and senior officers of the ministries of home affairs, finance and agriculture attended the meeting.
