Due to Angeethi fumes, 3 people died while 1 is in critical condition

A police officer said on Sunday three man died of the carbon monoxide poisoning in South Delhi’s Hauz Khas area after being suffocated by the fumes of an angeethi lit the previous night.

 

The incident was reported around 10:30 am on Sunday, the coolest day in Delhi this season with the maximum temperature plunging at 15 degrees Celsius seven degree below normal. The minimum temperature remained at 6.4 degree Celsius, two below normal with moderate fog.

 

The case has been registered at the Hauz Khas village police station. The owner of the house called an ambulance and rushed to get a doctor. Three were declared dead on arrival while fourth is struggling for his life.

 

Sources claimed the men were inebriated and took the brazier in the room.

 

While a senior police officer DCP Prem Nath said, “We have received a brazier from the spot. Their room did not have a window and no signs of flight or attack were found. The cause of death would be clear only after an autopsy report.
