The center remained 35 km away from Jabalpur and 10 km from Dindori. The hypocenter of the earthquake is found at a depth of 10 km.
People came out of their homes in panic as soon as they felt the tremors of the earthquake at around 8.43 in the morning. People felt tremors in the earth in six districts of the state – Dindori, Jabalpur, Mandla, Anuppur Balaghat, and Umaria districts.
