Asked to follow the dignity of the temple

According to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the SGPC staff asked the woman to observe the Golden Temple's decorum. The SGPC said that they have started an investigation into the matter. He has also alleged that some people are deliberately giving a wrong twist to the incident. SGPC general secretary Gurcharan Singh Grewal said the painting was "not the national flag as it did not have the Ashoka Chakra".

Sikh community respects the national flag

He said that the Sikh community respects the national flag as most of the people who laid down their lives for the country during the freedom struggle were Sikhs." Grewal said that Sikhs are patriots and can make any sacrifice for the motherland. .

Referring to the narrative being created against Sikhs after the incident, he said that no one should try to malign the image of the Sikh community by posting objectionable videos on social media.

Narrative being created against Sikhs - SGPG President

SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami also condemned the narrative being created against Sikhs on social media after the video went viral on social media. The SGPC president said that it is not right to make fabricated and baseless comments on social media to tarnish the image of Sikhs over any incident and defame the management of the organisation.

Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) is a universal place for people of all faiths and pilgrims arriving here are respected. But it is sad that anti-Sikh forces are leaving no stone unturned to tarnish the image of Sikh institutions. Dhami said that spreading false propaganda on any incident is an act of breaking brotherhood, which should be avoided.
