Voting begins at 7 a.m. tomorrow in 1,374 wards in the metropolitan area, 3,843 wards in the municipal area, and 7,621 wards in the metropolitan area.
For this 15 thousand 158 polling stations have been set up in the areas of the corporation. There are 7,417 polling stations in the municipal areas and 8,454 in the municipal areas. A total of 31,150 polling stations have been set up across the state.
All arrangements for recording at these polling stations are in place. 1 lakh 60 thousand electronic machines are being used in the polling stations for tomorrow's election.

3,678 polling stations across the state were found to be tense. It has also been found that the problem can occur in as many as 2,000 places. These areas have also been reported as tense.
In Chennai alone, 1,100 places are tense, according to police. The police have decided to engage in intensive surveillance in such tense polling stations and areas.
A total of 846 task forces have been set up to provide immediate relief in case of any untoward incidents in the troubled areas. These Action Troops will be in vehicles ready everywhere.
If there is a report of a problem in any area, the task force immediately rushes there and takes action to resolve the problem.
Similarly, 1,343 standing committees comprising police officers and guards have been formed across the state to conduct the elections peacefully. Arrangements have also been made for them to patrol the polling stations and surrounding areas in vehicles.
Checkpoints have been set up to prevent unauthorized persons from infiltrating the wards from outside and to prevent the smuggling of weapons and alcohol. Checkpoints have been set up at a total of 455 locations and police are on 24-hour surveillance.

It has been reported that police officers in metropolitan areas in all districts should be directly involved in election security work. As many as 17,788 police personnel will be deployed directly at the polling booths during tomorrow's elections.
Along with them, 71,074 policemen and 9,020 policemen from the Tamil Nadu Special Forces are on security duty. As many as 97,882 policemen will be on patrol across the state tomorrow.

1 lakh 40 thousand officers will be engaged in the election work tomorrow along with the police.
The polling station set up at each polling station is to be staffed by separate security guards. Polling stations will feature up to 4 or 5 centers.
All the centers set up separately like this already have one guard on duty each. A guard will be on duty at the entrance gate tomorrow to prevent unwanted persons from entering the polling booth.
