Former Indian captain Kapil Dev suffered a heart attack, doctors gave relief news after angioplasty

Former India captain Kapil Dev, who won India's first Cricket World Cup, has been admitted to a hospital in Delhi on Friday. According to the news agency ANI, "He was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Okhla today due to heart problems." Later, Fortis Hospital also issued a statement saying that Kapil Dev was brought here after a heart attack, where he later underwent angioplasty. Although initially, the hospital had said that Kapil Dev had only chest pain.

 

Fortis Hospital said in its update bulletin, "Kapil Dev (62 years), captain of the Indian cricket team, was admitted to the Emergency Department of Fortis Escorts Hearts Institute at Okhla Road at 1 pm on October 23 after a heart attack. He was examined and then Dr. Atul Mathur, director of the cardiology department, underwent an emergency coronary angioplasty of Kapil Dev at midnight. " Angioplasty is the process of opening blocked arteries to allow normal blood circulation to the heart.

 

The hospital said, "Kapil Dev is presently admitted in the ICU and is under intense supervision of Dr. Atul Mathur and his team. His condition is now stable and he may be discharged in the next few days."

 

Indian Cricketer's Association (ICA) President and Kapil's friend Ashok Malhotra informed PTI that he is now in good health. Former Test player Malhotra said, "He is feeling fine now." I just talked to his wife (Romi). He was feeling a bit uneasy yesterday. His tests are being done in the hospital. "
