Capetown, Feb 19 (IANS) Former South Africa cricket captain Graeme Smith and his wife of three-and-a-half years, Irish singer Morgan Deane, have reportedly decided to end their marriage.
The couple have a two-year-old daughter and one-year-old son. The couple’s lawyer, David Becker, has confirmed that the couple are divorcing.
Smith tied the knot with Deane here in August 2011.
"I confirm that Graeme and Morgan are unfortunately divorcing. This is obviously a private matter and the couple would ask that their privacy is respected during this time, both for the sake of themselves and their children," Becker was quoted as saying by South Africa's TimesLive website Wednesday.
The website also quoted a friend saying that it was Deane who decided to end their marriage.
The 34-year-old played 117 Test matches for South Africa before retiring in 2014.
