Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has praised young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal for his brilliant performance against England during the third Test in Rajkot. Yashasvi had failed to play a big innings in India's first innings, but he compensated for it in the second innings. He was retired hurt on 104 runs on the third day. However, he returned to the field on the fourth day scored a quick double-century, and remained unbeaten after scoring 214 runs. On this innings of Yashasvi, Shastri has compared his skill with that of cricket great Sachin Tendulkar. Thanks to Yashasvi's 214* runs and Sarfaraz Khan's unbeaten 68 runs, India declared its second innings at 430 runs for four wickets and had set a target of 557 runs for England.

Shastri praised Yashasvi

He said, 'I am impressed by the way Yashasvi Jaiswal batted. Not only with the bat but also his performance and mannerisms on the field were excellent. I think going forward he can be one of Rohit's part-time bowling options. He can also be given bowling. Yashasvi reminds me of young Tendulkar. He is busy all the time on the field. One of the most brilliant examples of the famous saying is 'If you believe in yourself, there is hope.' Nothing is impossible.' It's just one word, but you'll continue to see them involved.

Biggest win in terms of runs

India defeated England by 434 runs in the third Test in Rajkot on Sunday to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Chasing the target of 557 runs, the England team was reduced to 122 runs. This was India's biggest Test win in terms of runs. Earlier in 2021, India had defeated New Zealand by 372 runs at Wankhede, Mumbai. At the same time, overall this is the eighth-biggest win by any team in Tests by a margin of runs. England holds the record for the biggest win in this case in Tests. They defeated Australia by 675 runs in Brisbane in 1928. At the same time, this is England's second biggest defeat by a margin of runs in Tests. England lost to Australia by 562 runs at the Oval in 1934.

India took a 2-1 lead in the series

Except for Mark Wood, no batsman from England could even touch the figure of 20. Wood scored 33 runs in 15 balls. At the same time, Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets for India. Apart from this, Kuldeep got two wickets. Bumrah and Ashwin got one wicket each. India has taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series. England won the first Test in Hyderabad, while India won the second Test in Visakhapatnam. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 214 runs in India's second innings, which included 12 sixes. Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja also scored centuries. Sarfaraz scored half-centuries in both the innings of his debut Test. Scored 62 runs in the first innings and 68 runs in the second. The fourth Test will be played in Ranchi from 23 February.
