Kolkata, Jan 31 (IANS) The CBI Saturday arrested former union minister and Congress leader Matang Sinh in the multi-crore rupee Saradha chit fund scam.
Sinh, a former minister of state for parliamentary affairs in the P.V. Narasimha Rao government (1991-96), was arrested after several hours of grilling.
"Matang Sinh has been arrested in the Saradha reality case on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating and misappropriation of funds," said a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official.
