G20 India: UGC starts the University Connect program, which will make students aware of G20 conference

India is gearing up to host the next G20 summit. Awareness programs about the G-20 summit and getting its chairmanship have already started across the country. Indian universities are also joining this chain. UGC has started the University Connect program to connect universities with the G-20 conference. Under this, students across the country will be made aware of the G-20 conference.

 

UGC Chairman Professor M Jagadesh Kumar said that India on Thursday started its G-20 chairmanship journey with the University Connect program by connecting with students of universities across the country. Kumar said that during India's G20 chairmanship, students from several universities discussed the importance of G20 chairmanship and how India can become a role model for the rest of the world through its G20 chairmanship as a center of healing, harmony, and hope. He said that it is wonderful that India has started its G20 Chairmanship journey with University Connect on Thursday by connecting with students of universities across the country. India formally assumed the chairmanship of the G20 on December 1 with a focus on counter-terrorism and unity in dealing with global challenges such as economic slowdown and climate crisis. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission said that our students would also be the ambassadors of our country, showing the way for rapid, inclusive developmental progress to the G20 members visiting India.
