Kolkata Knight Riders' coach is Chandrakant Pandit and the captain is Shreyas Iyer. Now both of them will get the support of mentor Gautam Gambhir. Shahrukh and Gautam have a good relationship. Even when Gambhir was with another team, Shahrukh used to praise him. Both had met several times in recent times. Due to this, there were speculations that Gautam might return to KKR.

Gambhir has worked with KKR before also. He has been the former captain of Kolkata Knight Riders and under his captaincy, KKR won the IPL title twice in 2012 and 2014. Gambhir was the captain of KKR from 2011 to 2017 and now he will work as the mentor of this team.
