The 35th match of IPL 2025 will be played between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals on Saturday (April 19). In this match, there will be a battle between the two teams for the top position. At present, Delhi is in first place with 10 points while Gujarat is in second place with eight points. In this match to be played in Ahmedabad, all eyes will be on Mitchell Starc and Mohammad Siraj.
Delhi strong due to Starc's impressive bowling
Delhi's morale is high after defeating Rajasthan in the Super Over. Starc played an important role in their victory. Australia's left-arm fast bowler S also bowled the Super Over apart from bowling three accurate yorkers. Starc, who did not play in the Champions Trophy after the Border Gavaskar Trophy, has entered the IPL completely refreshed.
Starc, who has taken 10 wickets with an economy of above 10 so far, is leading Delhi's fast attack which also includes Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma. He will now have the responsibility of controlling the top order of Gujarat Titans which includes captain Shubman Gill, Sai Sudarshan, Jos Butler.
Gill-Butler and Sudarshan will have to be controlled.
So far these three have handled the responsibility of batting. Gujarat's middle order did not have to go through any difficult test and when the need came against Lucknow Super Giants, they failed. If Delhi sends Gujarat's top order early, then the weakness of the middle order will be exposed again.
Siraj wreaking havoc
On the other hand, after an average performance in the Border Gavaskar Trophy and being out of the Champions Trophy-winning Indian team, Siraj has worked hard on his shortcomings during the break and the results are in front of us. Siraj has so far taken 10 wickets at an economy of 8.50. Especially his performance in the powerplay was excellent. Now he will face Delhi opener Jack Fraser McGurk and talented Abhishek Porel, who are in poor form. If they fail, the responsibility of scoring runs for Delhi will be on KL Rahul and Karun Nair.
Both teams have excellent spinners.
Delhi captain Akshar Patel, who plays for Gujarat in domestic cricket, would like to make an impression on his home ground. Both teams have excellent spin bowlers. Gujarat has Sai Kishore and Rashid Khan while Delhi has Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraaj Nigam in their team. It is not yet clear whether Kuldeep will play because he suffered a shoulder injury in the last match and there is no update on his fitness.
