In the past, the advocacy of the participation of the United Nations in the situation of Jammu and Kashmir and the joining of Pakistan's yes to Germany was overshadowed. The result was that he had to retract the statement within a few days. Germany's ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, refuted the statement of his foreign minister, admitting that the issue of Kashmir is an issue between the two countries. The world body has a very limited role in this matter. Ackermann said there was no change in Germany's position on the Kashmir issue.

Speaking to news agency ANI on the remarks of the German Foreign Minister, Ackermann said that first of all, I must say that we are quite surprised by the reactions of the Indian side and the Indian media. The people of India have reacted strongly. I don't want to go by the words of the minister but I want to tell you that Germany's position on Kashmir has not changed. We still believe that this matter should be resolved between the two countries. Our minister also underlined in his statement that the bilateral route is the way forward, direct dialogue with neighbors is the way forward, he said. But the statement that the minister took the Kashmir issue to the United Nations was misrepresented. There was a mistake in understanding this statement.

What was said by the foreign minister of Germany, after which there was a ruckus?

Let us inform you that in the past, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock supported her Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding Kashmir. Annalena had said that it is the responsibility of Germany to pay attention to the situation in Kashmir. Not only this, he demanded from the United Nations that he should try to find a peaceful solution to this area.

India had rejected this statement outright.

India had categorically rejected the statement made by the Foreign Minister of Germany on Kashmir. On behalf of India, Germany had been told that the responsibility of the international community rests on terrorism, especially cross-border terrorism.
