New Delhi, March 21 (IANS) The Election Commission Friday instructed all the state election commissions that the photo voter slip should be given to the electors five days ahead of the polls.
All the state election commissions have been directed that the photo voter slips should be printed in good quality paper so the photographs and entries will be clear on it.
As per the commission, every photo voter slip will be authenticated and then distributed through the booth level officers (BLO).
The officials have also been asked to give the photo voter slip either to the registered voter or to an adult member of the voter's family who himself/herself is a voter.
The BLO should obtain the signature or thumb impression of the person to whom the slip is given.
The undistributed slip along with an alphabetical voters' list will be kept at the facilitation desk outside each polling station on the day of the poll.
Voters who did not get the slip can collect the same from the desk on the poll day.
